What's in a Name?

When you hear about us for the first time, you may wonder what's behind a name like LomaVer Tours.

The inspiration came to us on a brainstorming walk that took us to Casa Loma, Toronto's famous landmark castle. By combining 'Loma', which means elevation or escarpment in Spanish, with 'ver' for seeing, also in Spanish, we suddenly had our name.

After all, when you are on higher ground you have a better view of opportunities and challenges. What has always applied to doing battle became in our case also a metaphor for doing business.

Sometimes we are asked if the inspiration for the second part of LomaVer had also something to do with the first three letters of Veronica, our co-founder. Well, our story ends here and we let you speculate on that chicken and egg story.

It may take you a bit longer to remember our name, but we believe that when you do, you will not easily forget us.

About Us

LomaVer Tours was founded by a husband and wife team with a singular vision – to deliver unique customized travel experiences, catering to those who demand nothing less than the best quality and service.

Why LomaVer Tours?

	Personal service should never be just a slogan. As a small and family run company, you will always know who you are talking to at LomaVer Tours. And you will never hear us say that somebody else is responsible for your booking.
	We are accessible when you need us. If your client encounters an unforeseeable problem somewhere overseas with any service booked through us, they will always have a local contact number in their itinerary. If our direct intervention is still required, they will be able to reach us at virtually any time. It often does not work that way when you book a travel service over the internet.
	We know our destinations. Our travels have taken us to most of the destinations we offer in our product line. One of our passions is to share our travel experiences with our clients, through thoughtfully designed itineraries, useful travel tips, tour suggestions, restaurant and shopping recommendations.
	We know our hotels. A wrong hotel choice can easily ruin what could otherwise be a great vacation. We go to great length to identify the best hotels in each category in all the major destinations we offer in our programs. We have inspected most of our hotels personally. For the few we have not seen yet, we make sure that they are highly recommended by our carefully selected network of local partner companies.
	Our extras. These are the details that matter, such as our insistence on including a private transfer when clients arrive at an unfamiliar foreign destination. A prepaid transfer eliminates uncertainty about the reliability of local transfer services. Isn't it reassuring to see your name on a sign in the arrivals area? Or not having to worry about a long line-up for taxis because of a sudden rain shower, or even an unexpected strike by the local taxi drivers? Then there are the useful extras like brochures, guide books or restaurant and shopping tips.

Our Founders

Herbert Wolf

A pioneer in the travel industry, Herbert has acquired extensive experience in a career that spans the spectrum from working for the Austrian National Tourist Office, to many years in different management positions at Austrian Airlines and two tour companies. As General Manager of LomaVer Tours, his primary responsibility is our product. A native of Austria, Herbert considers much of Central Europe his 'backyard'. His passions for history, the arts, literature, food and wine, serve him well in his quest of creating unforgettable travel experiences for our clients.

Veronica P. Wolf

Veronica's international experience started with her career at the United Nations in New York. When her personal and professional life took her to Toronto, positions in the media added to her business expertise. From there, it was a seamless transition to the travel industry. As Director of Marketing & Business Development of LomaVer Tours, Veronica is leading the promotion of the company, while also searching for exciting travel products for our clients.
